All About Arthritis

Overview

The majority of dental problems are preventable. Brushing twice a day (morning and night), flossing once a day, eating a balanced diet, and going to the dentist regularly are all essential. However, many people do not adhere to these recommendations and suffer from toothaches. We don’t go to the doctor till the ultimate pain sensation or inability to eat is our limiting line.

But, this is completely incorrect; you should visit your dentist regularly and take all required procedures to keep your teeth and gums healthy. Hence, it is also good to prevent dental problems by learning about them and their causes.

Therefore, this page briefly discusses dental issues and how they can be avoided and addressed.

Everything You Need To Know About Dentistry

Who is a dentist?

A dentist is also a surgeon specializing in dental care, which includes the prognosis, prevention, and treatment of chronic diseases and ailments of the teeth and gums. Also, the dentist’s support personnel help provides oral hygiene services.

Diseases We Treat

Breath Problems

Halitosis (bad mouth odor) can be humiliating. According to studies, patients with persistent foul breath have a dental problems.

They may include:

  • Cavities caused by gum disease
  • Oral cancer
  • Parched mouth
  • Bacterial growth on the tongue

Decay of the teeth

Cavities, or tooth decay, are the most frequent dental issue. When plaque interacts with sugar/carbohydrates, it results in tooth decay. Furthermore, acids are produced because of the mixture, destroying tooth enamel. Cavities can strike at any age. They’re not only for kids. They can be caused by aging and regular enamel degradation.

Gum disease (periodontal disease) is a condition that affects the gums.

Gum disease is an infection that affects the gums and teeth. It’s also one of the most common causes of tooth loss in adults. However, it is most common after the age of 30. The following are some symptoms:

  • Breath problems
  • Red, swollen, painful, or bleeding gums
  • Sensitive teeth
  • When chewing, there is pain.

Gingivitis is the medical term for gum disease. Periodontitis is a form of gum disease that has worsened. Regular dental checkups, brushing, and flossing might help you avoid them.

Oral cancer

Oral cancer is a life-threatening disease. However, if discovered and treated early enough, this disease is treatable. The following are the most significant risk factors:

  • Tobacco use (smoking or chewing)
  • Human papillomavirus (HPV) and alcohol usage

The following are some signs and symptoms of mouth or throat cancer:

  • Sores and Lumps
  • Your bite will change.
  • You’re having trouble chewing or moving your tongue or jaw.

Mouth Sores

Mouth sores come in a variety of shapes and sizes. They’re usually nothing to be concerned about unless they continue for over two weeks. Some examples of common mouth sores are Aphthous ulcers (fungus sores), Cold sores/fever blisters, Thrush (oral candidiasis).

Dental Emergencies and Toothaches

Dental crises can be painful and frightening. Hence, they demand immediate medical attention, just like any other emergency. The following are some common issues that necessitate a trip to the dentist right away:

  • A fractured or damaged tooth
  • A tooth with an abscess
  • Accidentally knocked out a tooth
  • Other diseases include – Tooth erosion, Tooth sensitivity, gum disease.

If you are facing dental issues, see a dentist right away. They should have someone on call to address emergencies, even on weekends and evenings.

Services and Treatment available at ONP Hospital

Gingivitis Treatment

Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease, and it solely affects the gums. Plaque coats your teeth and gums when you don’t clean and floss your teeth correctly. The germs that live there induce inflammation.

Your gums may become swollen and red, and you may have bleeding. The good news is that you may remove plaque on your own by brushing and flossing your teeth and gums regularly.

During a basic dental cleaning, plaque can also be eliminated. Plaque can eventually harden into calculus tartar if left untreated. Hence only a dental health professional can remove this accumulation.

Periodontitis Treatment

Gingivitis can proceed to periodontitis, a more serious and dangerous stage if not treated. The gums, bones, and tissues surrounding and supporting the teeth are affected at this stage. Pain, bleeding, receding gums, gums moving away from the teeth, tissue disintegration, loose teeth, and tooth loss are all possible symptoms.

Treatment of Root canal.

Enamel, dentin, and pulp are the 3 parts that make up a tooth. Root canal treatment is required when the cavity has become so large that it has reached the pulp. All infection from within the tooth is removed, and all root canals are cleaned during this surgery. The tooth is then cemented to prevent infection. After receiving this treatment, the tooth becomes brittle and fragile. As a result, a post-Root Canal Treatment crown is critical to safeguard the tooth.

After enduring knee pain for the past decade, my mother sought advice from various doctors in Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune. They all recommended knee replacement surgery, but it was only when we discovered Dr. Aashish Arbat and the option of robotics surgery that we made the decision to proceed.

The surgery took place on June 23, 2023, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. To our astonishment, on the morning of June 24, my mother was able to stand on her own legs and even take a few steps. This remarkable progress was made possible due to the advanced assistance of robotics arm and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Aashish Arbat is an exceptional and highly experienced surgeon, and we are immensely grateful for his expertise. We also extend our appreciation to his colleagues, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Ram, for their excellent skills and compassionate nature. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the entire team for enabling my mother to live a pain-free life
