    Overview

Failure of the menstrual cycle (amenorrhea, lack of menstruation, increase/decrease cycle times, rich or poor selection while menstruating, spotting, having no relation with menstruation) is a sign of every female disease in gynecology caused by hormonal or endocrine problems. In addition, the menstrual cycle is disrupted, resulting in irregular periods. As a result, secondary infertility develops, necessitating prompt treatment.

Everything You Need To Know About Gynaecological Endocrine Disorders

    What it Is?

Hormones are the chemical messengers in your body that are responsible for your body’s entire growth. These are generated in the endocrine glands and are extremely potent because they flow through the circulation, instructing cells and tissues to execute various activities. The endocrine system is in charge of regulating the body’s many hormones. Hormonal imbalance can result in a variety of issues.

    Causes

Though there may be a variety of explanations for hormonal imbalances, it is crucial to remember that the causes are dependent on the hormones as well as the glands that are impacted. While some studies indicate that an imbalance in one or more hormones causes the problem, others believe that the incorrect functioning of a few glands is to blame. Special cells in your endocrine glands store, manufacture, and even discharge hormones into your bloodstream.

The human body is made up of several endocrine glands that regulate hormone levels. Adrenal glands, pituitary gland, thyroid, hypothalamus, gonads, and parathyroid glands, pineal gland, and other glands are necessary for hormonal homeostasis. Every year, hormone imbalance is blamed for a slew of physical problems. Unbalance can be caused by a variety of causes, including lifestyle choices and environmental variables.

As a result of the fact that women’s endocrine glands differ from men’s, they are more susceptible to hormonal disorders. PCOS, early menopause, POI (primary ovarian insufficiency), and other medical disorders can cause hormonal imbalance in women.

    Types

The forms of gynecological endocrine diseases that women suffer from are as follows:

    • Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a debilitating condition. When the endometrial-like tissue functions as a wound, it thickens and bleeds during menstruation, resulting in this illness. However, it is unable to locate an escape and becomes stuck, creating underlining. The endometrium develops outside the uterus, whereas it grows within the uterus. Endometriosis can affect the lining of your pelvic, fallopian tubes, and ovaries. Endometriosis can become a source of infertility in severe cases. Endometriosis can cause excruciating discomfort during menstruation.

    • PCOD

PCOD, commonly known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), is a prevalent disease that affects women of reproductive age. This affects 5% to 10% of women between the ages of 12 and 45. The hormones of women become imbalanced, creating menstruation difficulties and making it difficult for women to conceive. Acne, irregular periods, no ovulation, and hirsutism are the primary causes. It can develop into insulin-resistant diabetes and excessive cholesterol, which can lead to heart disease if not addressed.

    • Uterine Fibroids

Fibroids, also known as tumors that form with fibrous connective tissue and muscle cells, is an abnormal development that can arise in a woman’s uterus. The tumors’ size can occasionally get enormous, resulting in significant abdominal discomfort and excessive menstrual flow. Uterine fibroids are difficult to detect since they are asymptomatic. It is, nevertheless, non-cancerous and some treatments can help you feel better.

    Treatments

When it concerns hormonal imbalance therapies, there are several alternatives available. Gynecologists nowadays recommend a variety of therapies to correct hormonal imbalances. A handful of them is listed below.

    • Estrogen therapy – If you’re experiencing hot flashes or other bothersome menopausal symptoms, your doctor may suggest estrogen therapy. In addition, you should discuss the risks and advantages of hormone replacement treatment.
    • Vaginal estrogen – Vaginal dryness is a frequent complaint among women nowadays. Apart from that, sex-related discomfort is a prevalent issue. Applying estrogen cream or taking estrogen pills might sometimes help to alleviate this issue.
    • Hormonal birth control — If you want to keep it short, hormonal birth control tablets are an excellent choice because they regulate the menstrual cycle. Birth control pills, patches, injections, IUDs, and vaginal rings are some of the most prevalent hormonal birth control medications. Acne and hirsutism can both be treated with these tablets.
    • Testosterone therapy – Low testosterone levels in males can lead to stunted development. Testosterone supplements, on the other hand, help to alleviate the symptoms of low testosterone. Testosterone treatment can help adolescents with delayed puberty since it controls puberty levels. Injections, gels, and patches are available as treatments.
    • Metformin – Metformin is a diabetic medicine that works well for patients with type 2 diabetes. Women with PCOS symptoms can also use this medication to address their condition. Although the FDA has not approved metformin for the treatment of PCOS, it does assist to decrease androgen levels and promote ovulation.

    Conclusion

It’s crucial to remember that the endocrine system includes both glands and hormones. One or two systems in your body assist in the coordination of numerous bodily activities. Maintaining hormone levels is the responsibility of the entire endocrine system. It is important to maintain hormonal balance over time and in many conditions for your survival. You can preserve your young energy with hormone replacement therapy. Please contact us for further details.

After enduring knee pain for the past decade, my mother sought advice from various doctors in Nagpur, Nashik, and Pune. They all recommended knee replacement surgery, but it was only when we discovered Dr. Aashish Arbat and the option of robotics surgery that we made the decision to proceed.

The surgery took place on June 23, 2023, and it turned out to be an incredible experience. To our astonishment, on the morning of June 24, my mother was able to stand on her own legs and even take a few steps. This remarkable progress was made possible due to the advanced assistance of robotics arm and Artificial Intelligence.

Dr. Aashish Arbat is an exceptional and highly experienced surgeon, and we are immensely grateful for his expertise. We also extend our appreciation to his colleagues, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Ram, for their excellent skills and compassionate nature. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the entire team for enabling my mother to live a pain-free life
